Guide to the Best Clothing Stores in Rome Italy and Shopping Outlets

When it comes to buying clothes in Rome, Italy, the best bargains are in clothing stores, outlets, and vintage markets.

The first part of this post focuses on what are the best clothing stores in Rome. In terms of variety and style, they do not have much to envy the boutiques.

The stores are larger than the clothing shops dotting the narrow streets of Rome’s historic center.

They also allow you to buy clothes for women, children, and men at reasonable prices. You will find some both in the historic center and in the suburbs.

Rome’s shopping outlets, on the other hand, are located outside the city; I will explain how to reach them even by public transportation in the second part of the article.

I have already talked in detail about flea markets in my article on the city’s vintage markets

In this post, you will discover insider tips for enjoying the most affordable shopping in Rome.

These stores sell clothes for every season including swimwear, underwear, and shoes (although they do not specialize in shoes).

This is a historic Italian clothing store chain founded in Venice by Vittorio Coin in the early 1900s.

The store in Rome is spread over several floors and has an escalator. Inside you will find clothing from many different brands for men women and children. and cosmetics as well.

THE 2 BEST SHOPPING OUTLETS IN ROME

Outlets were created to give big brands the opportunity to dispose of old collections but currently, they also represent an independent sales channel.

Just outside Rome, there are 2 outlet villages where you can spend whole days looking for branded clothes at bargain prices. These outlets near Rome are open every day.

VALMONTONE OUTLET VILLAGE

This is the most popular shopping outlet in Italy. To reach it, one must drive along the Via Casilina all the way past the medieval village of Valmontone.

The outlet village’s architecture is inspired by art deco. You will find more than 180 stores boasting discounts from 30 to 70 throughout the year.

Here you will also find footwear, accessories, housewares, and electronics.

The brands on display include big names in Italian fashion such as Luisa Spagnoli, Sandro Ferrone, Enrico Coveri, Nuvolari and Trussardi.

There is a food court with restaurants and street food. Valmontone Outlet is located very close to Rainbow Magicland amusement park.

How to get to Valmontone Outlet:

Take a Trenitalia train from Roma Termini to Valmontone (about a 40-minute ride, the ticket costs €3). From Valmontone train station, take the Outlet Village shuttle (which operates Wednesday through Sunday).

The shuttle leaves the station at 11:15 am and 2 pm and returns to the station at 5 pm and 7:15 pm. Each ride costs €1.

DESIGNER OUTLET CASTEL ROMANO

This outlet is located along Via Pontina, about 25 km from the center of Rome. The shopping village houses 155 stores including Armani, Alberta Ferretti, Furla, Moschino, Patrizia Pepe, and Bialetti.

Not far from the outlet is Cinecittà World amusement park.

How to reach Castel Romano Outlet

A shuttle service from Roma Termini to the outlet operates daily. The cost of the round-trip shuttle ride is €15, free for children under 10 years old.

Shuttle schedule:
Departures from Rome in Via Giolitti (Termini area): at 8 - 10 - 11 - 12 am
Departures from Castel Romano Outlet: 4 - 5 - 6:30 - 7:30 pm.

To satisfy your craving for affordable shopping in Rome, visit some or all of the stores I have recommended.  To have a unique experience at even more affordable prices, however, you must also explore the flea markets.
