I am an American Composer/Pianist who has left the US – seeking Refuge, and Beauty…a place to Work and Create more Music, more Images. Calcata looks AMAZING! – Perhaps…PERFECT! if perfection exists! I just spent 4 months in Istanbul, and I am now in transit, to Rome on October 1st. This is My Music, and I can almost hear Cacata calling to me!

Comment on Post-pandemic reflections on the lyrics of ” Fear Inoculum” by the Tool by Alma Carel /tool-fear-inoculum-lyrics-meaning/#comment-1500 Sun, 12 Sep 2021 04:48:18 +0000 /?p=6390#comment-1500 In reply to Mark Donnelly.

Rather than theories about Tool being part if the global elite and having access to information, I think it is better to remember that artists especially so Awake as Maynard have always had eerily prescient abilities.

Especially since so many artists receive inspiración from “beyond”. Some of the best songwriters describe plucking songs out of the river, being hunted by a story that wants to be told, etc. Some are well aware of where society has been going and have been consciously warning people for years in their art and speech. But sometimes it is even a surprise to them how relevant their creation become during some crisis.

Speaking from experience here somewhat, I am just writing and making art for myself. I have been a bit creeped out by my own creations, but not really surprised. If I were more in the spotlight and was accused of having connections to the elite, I would feel that an innate ability to listen to the universe or just use my brain to observe where things are going was being dismissed. More important that we recognise that many “common people” have this ability to reach beyond if we just listen. I feel Alex Grey would agree.

The song for me is a very elaborate form of the Litany Against Fear from Dune. He is describing the poison of letting fear infest you. Mass hysteria is contagious even when no virus is involved. Gearing others is very relatable in this suspicious society, even before the pandemic. It is very strangely relevant today, no doubt about it. The specific wording could be part of this “inspiration” many feel when writing songs, as if the lines are already out there.

The lesson is important with or without a pandemic because it is a timeless truth. We can live in this world without denying the challenges and dangers of the time while working to not be consumed by fear as it obstructs our ability to use our intellect or act from the inner knowing.

Comment on Il testo di “Fear Inoculum” dei Tool: considerazioni agghiaccianti by Andrea T(ool) /tool-fear-inoculum-testo-traduzione-significato/#comment-1464 Mon, 02 Aug 2021 20:37:19 +0000 /?p=6380#comment-1464 Ciao Lisa,

Ti abbraccio,
Andrea

Probably seen them more than the Dead! There is really nothing like a Tool show. The subject matter on this album made me wonder if they were working on the ‘virus’ with Anthony Fauci, it was so prescient. I’m also a huge fan of Alex Grey. I liked your article, thanks for writing it!
